ObamaCare: Congress and the President Violate the Constitution

Moral and Legal Authority: A government with moral and legal authority promulgates written rules and universally, impartially and uniformly enforces the rules, which provide a predictable and stable legal order on which to base economic and personal decisions.  The law prevails, not the proclamation or arbitrary decision of a ruler, government bureaucrat, the enforcer (e.g., policeman) or judge.

Balanced Budgets: Tea Party 'Terrorizing' Europe

While American lawmakers and the president are watching their disastrous monetary and fiscal policies unfold with the credit downgrade of U.S. debt by Standard & Poor’s (S&P), some European countries are finally waking up to the reality of failed Keynesian economic policies that the tea party has been warning about for years. Last week, Italy and France have both proposed adding a Balanced Budget Amendment to their constitutions.

Debt and President Obama

Democracy and Power 108: Obfuscation Wherever politics intrudes upon economic life, political success is readily attained by saying what people like to hear rather than what is demonstrably true. Instead of safeguarding truth and honesty, the state then tends to become a major source of insincerity and mendacity. – Hans F. Sennholz Fearing failures, the politician’s speech is seldom precise or logically reasoned. Seeking a favorable image, the politician talks in generalities, exaggerates and obfuscates.

The Enduring Crisis of Big Government

A catastrophic crisis has been averted.  The debt ceiling was raised and America was spared from having Treasury secretary Timothy Geithner in control of prioritizing federal spending and managing our nation’s balance sheets.Still, the debt deal marked yet another win for big spenders and establishment politicians, who, using Washington’s Madoffesque budgetary math, presumably made big and, even if you follow liberal progressive logic, “painful” cuts.

Big Spenders in Washington—Not Tea Party— to Blame for Credit Downgrade

Lots of finger pointing has occurred following the first-ever downgrade of the United States credit rating last week. Numerous political figures, including Sen. Kerry (D-Mass.) and the Obama administration’s former chief advisor David Axelrod, blame the Tea Party for the Standards and Poor’s (S&P) downgrading the U.S. credit rating from AAA to AA+. Some media talking heads have even dubbed it the “Tea Party Downgrade.” The truth, however, tells an entirely different story.

FreedomWorks Applauds Wisconsin for Supporting Bold Pro-Growth Reforms Despite Attacks from the Left

WASHINGTON, DC- Today, Freedomworks applauds Wisconsin Republicans for effectively maintaining its majority in the chamber despite the bullying tactics of state Democrats and public sector unions. State Democrats attempted to recall six state Republicans following Governor Walker’s efforts to balance the budget and reign in spending. Despite their outrage, Governor Walker’s reforms are already showing tremendous success. Over 9,500 of the 18,000 jobs created in the United States June jobs report came from Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Union's Waterloo

What happened in Wisconsin last night was a major win for freedom. The state passed tough reforms early this year, and Governor Scott Walker and the Republican majority did what the Wisconsin voters elected them to do - they balanced the budget, reined in spending, and turned the state around in just six short months.  How well are the Wisconsin reforms working? Over 9,500 of the 18,000 jobs created in the United States in June came from Wisconsin. .

The Bureaucrazies Part 3: the Dihydrogen Oxide Effect and the EPA's Onslaught on Affordable Power
