Key Vote NO on the Shaheen/Portman Energy Efficiency Bill

As one of our several million members of FreedomWorks nationwide, I urge you to contact your senators and urge them to vote NO on the “Energy Savings and Industrial Competitiveness Act”, S. 761.  Introduced by Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) and Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH), the bill, while being sold as an energy efficiency overhaul for the country, is merely a conglomeration of government meddling and waste.

Common Core Inspires Students to ...Strive for Mediocrity

The more I learn about Common Core, the more I am reminded that the federal government fails at managing… anything. These uniform national curriculum standards are bad for students, teachers, parents, taxpayers, and really, society as a whole. The federal takeover of education needs to be immediately reversed for the sake of our future prosperity.

Common Core Testing Battle in California

In Los Angeles, there’s an unusual fight over Common Core. This fight is about testing before implementation. Although it is set to be implemented in the 2014-15 school year, a proposed bill (AB 484) was supposed to have their standardized testing align with those standards this year.

How to Take a Stand Against Classroom Bullying and Bias

As students of all ages go back to school, we need to address a very important issue. This issue is one I brought up this past March; bias and bullying in the classroom. In the course of the past few weeks, we have seen this issue reemerging in the national media. Teachers on both ends of the political spectrum are guilty of bias, and sometimes bullying, and it needs to end.

FreedomWorks Summit Takeaway: Washington Versus America

Bloggers and activists from around the nation gathered at FreedomWorks this September 6-8 for a Defund ObamaCare Summit, where they discussed the consequences of ObamaCare and the strategies being used by Democrats and some Republicans to keep the law in place. Attendees at the summit learned to counter the most substantive arguments – many of which have been ironically formulated by Republican congressional leadership – to support the funding of ObamaCare. The message was simple: Why fund a law that no one believes will work with money the federal government doesn’t have?

Congress and Staff Should Beware Their Obamacare Bribe

Of all the problems with Obamacare, the one that should strike the most fear into the hearts of members of Congress is public reaction to their acceptance of a bribe to keep the law funded. Congress should reject the exemption the President offers them, which allows the federal government to pay for their exchange-based health insurance.

Syria: Knowledgeable Citizens Defeat D.C. Elites

Democracy and Power 112: Fidelity to LeadershipTo be elected, a politician must please his constituents. However, to be a powerful legislative force, a politician must be an obedient member of a party – Democrat or Republican. Since most constituents are busy making a living, raising families and focused on immediate community concerns, loyalty to the party most often prevails
