Freedom Working at CPAC

FreedomWorks was fortunate to meet so many of the citizen activists who believe in lower taxes, less government and more freedom at this weekend’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). We also welcomed the opportunity to interact with other individuals concerned about the growth of the federal government and we found that this past year—in which we saw the passage of ObamaCare in complete disregard of what the American people wanted—has created many more like-minded defenders of liberty.

Key Vote YES on Rep. Jordan's Amendment to the Continuing Resolution

Dear Representative, On behalf of over a million FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to vote YES on Rep. Jordan’s amendment #104 to H.R. 1 the Full Year Continuing Appropriation Act.  As it currently stands, the proposed continuing resolution lowers non-security discretionary spending to $396.6 billion.  This would be the largest discretionary spending cut in American history.  Rep. Jordan’s amendment would go even further by returning non-security discretionary spending to FY2008 levels, which is $378 billion.

Socialist IMF Head Calls for Global Currency

The head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Dominique Strauss-Kahn is a member of France’s Socialist Party. As one of the 187 member countries, U.S. taxpayers pay roughly 17 percent of the IMF’s total funding.  Dominique Strauss-Kahn even unsuccessfully ran for president of France on the Socialist ticket in 2007.

Mayor Bloomberg Doesn't Like ObamaCare?

The video in which Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York City talks about how ObamaCare will actually likely increase the costs of health insurance and further bureaucratize the medical profession does not reveal anything that anyone in the Tea Party did not already know.

Responsibility Amidst Profligacy

Recently, President Obama called for the elimination of the alternate engine program for the joint strike fighter (JSF) program in an effort to cut back on defense spending. In this era of fiscal irresponsibility, the Obama administration has made a decision that is finally in the interest of the American taxpayer.

Government Trickery becomes Mendacity

Democracy and Power 108:  Obfuscation  Wherever politics intrudes upon economic life, political success is readily attained by saying what people like to hear rather than what is demonstrably true. Instead of safeguarding truth and honesty, the state then tends to become a major source of insincerity and mendacity. – Hans F. Sennholz
