I got to spend part of my weekend in Jackson, New Jersey. It was a blast. You people up in NJ are crazy in the best possible way. I got there around lunch time and it was freezing and drizzling, but people still showed up. I think I bring inclement weather with me everywhere I go - I've spoken at just two Tea Parties that didn't get rained on - it was over 100 both times. Both are inconvenient. The amazing thing is that nobody leaves. And that was the case on Sunday. The people of Jackson were fantastic. Everyone was SO nice.
It's only 6:30 am, but already folks are outside the hotel waving signs and encouraging honks from cars for their favorite candidates. In about twenty minutes, we'll be joining them in the rain to hand out voter ed pieces at nearby polling places.Yesterday, FreedomWorks got the candidate side-by-side in the hands of several hundred voters as we pounded the pavement of Watertown on what turned out to be a beautiful, if fleeting, sunny day. The side-by-side highlights the differences in where the now two congressional candidates stand on essential economic issues like cap
FreedomWorks Engages 24 Hour GOTV Campaign in New York 23 Race Efforts include door-to-door and phone calls to 25,000 targeted households to educate citizens on where candidates stand on key issues Washington, D.C. - FreedomWorks has organized a Get Out The Vote (GOTV) operation surrounding the special congressional election in New York’s 23rd district that will take place on Tuesday, November 3rd.
From Gateway Pundit: Rep. Michelle Bachman is calling all Americans to join her on the steps of the Capital Building in Washington DC on Thursday November 5th to stop “the Crown Jewel of Socialism” – the democrat’s bill to take over the US health care industry.
Just like the Baucus bill, the health care “reform” bill which is being pushed by Nancy Pelosi (and which she might or might not have the votes to get through the House) is nothing more than financial smoke and mirrors, a massive tax and spend program which will cost far more than Pelosi or her useful idiots at the CBO want you to believe.
FreedomWorks is heading up to NY for the final push in district 23. Our candidate side-by-sides might be a tad out of date now, but the issues at stake haven't changed. If you'd like to help us do some GOTV activities and issue education - meet us for breakfast at the Carriage House Restaurant (attached to the Best Western) at 300 Washington Street, Watertown, NY 13601 at 9 am. Questions, comments, and concerns can be directed to Nan at email@example.com.
The Institute for Justice filed an historic lawsuit today to fight restrictions on bone marrow donations. Currently those people in need of bone marrow cannot legally provide incentives to encourage potential donors to give marrow. The lawsuit seeks to lift this restriction and allow market incentives to help those in need. Here's a great video describing the case:
I’d like to bring your attention to a few interesting articles from recent days which argue strongly against the Democrats’ so-called “reform” of our health care system, particularly if you are not very old or sick:
When even the liberal Associated Press suggests the stimulus isn't working as we're told, you know the bloom is coming off the Obama rose, and Americans are slowly but surely learning the destructive fiscal folly of his economic policies. In an article reprinted in the Denver Post yesterday entitled "Stimulus jobs overcounted nationwide", two AP reporters lay out details of companies that substantially overstated the number of jobs they claimed to have "saved or created" with stimulus money.
With a 1990 page bill circulating in the House and the 1502 page Baucus bill still waiting to be merged with the HELP bill in the Senate, it may be difficult for the average American-- and the average congressman-- to fully grasp what Democrats hope health care reform will accomplish. In order to do so, it may be useful to examine
