Yesterday, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released a report projecting that our national debt will rise from $7.5 trillion (53% of GDP) at the end of 2009 to $15 trillion (67% of GDP) by 2020.  Such shocking predictions leave many Americans wondering, why is the national debt skyrocketing out of control?  Certainly both parties are guilty of pushing tax, borrow and spend agendas that cripple our economy and leave us financially dependent.  B

Obama's Campaign Finance Rhetoric is Misleading

Actions will always speak louder than words. For instance, President Barack Obama preaching a minimal role for corporations in funding campaigns isn’t ethical when in fact he himself was a major recipient of corporate funds leading up to his presidential election in 2008.

State of the Union: President Obama’s Chance to Explain

27.1% Youth Unemployment Rate: Minimum Wage Hurting Their Prospects

A great deal of young people were attracted to Obama’s campaign due to its “hipness” and its ability to organize through social networking sites. However, a year after Obama took office, more young people are waking up and realizing that Obama’s minimum wage policies do not serve their best interest.

Health Care Freedom Act Passes VA Senate Committee

ObamaCare may be dead in its current form, but Virginians are taking no chances. Two separate bills, one in the House of Delegates and the other in the state Senate, would effectively nullify any attempt by the federal government to mandate that individuals purchase certain health insurance plans. And yesterday, thanks in part to the tireless efforts of activists like VA Campaign for Liberty's Donna Holt, Senate Bill 417 got a big win.

Americans Oppose Second "Stimulus"

In December, the House passed the second "stimulus" plan. The proposed plan is now before the Senate and will redistribute $174 billion taxpayer money throughout the economy to "create" jobs. The second stimulus, heavily backed by democratic lawmakers, remains unpopular among American citizens that have yet to see any positive effects from the first stimulus.

It Came From the EPA

Scott Brown's election may have halted the specter of cap and trade for now, but that doesn't mean the Administration is stepping back from energy regulation any day soon.  The Administration isn't going to let a little thing like the fact that cap and trade would gut the economy, the fact that many oppose the plan, the fact that this opposition is growing, and the fact that voters in Massachusetts just sent a resounding message of disapproval of such big government machinations.
