Senate Democrats Push for Higher Taxes on Wisconsinites

Senate Democrats are pushing for a budget plan that will significantly raise taxes and create a socialized health care system in Wisconsin. If all of their budget proposals pass, Wisconsin could easily move from the eighth most taxed state to the first!! We need to rally our fiscal conservatives in the Senate to stop this tax increase! According to the Tax Foundation, this new health care system is expected to cost well over $15.2 billion next year. Senate Democrats would raise taxes on businesses to 14% for their socialized single-payer health care scheme.

Deja Vu All Over Again!

It seems as if the net neutrality proponents are at it again.  This time, they are targeting the forthcoming availability of the 700MHz band as a new venue to impose needless regulation on fledgling technologies.  As I have said many times before, “net neutrality” is a solution in search of problem.  This clever marketing scheme initially proposed new government “openness” regulations on the Internet and now is attempting to stifle growth in the wireless industry.  For the past decade, the wireless industry has been one of, if not the most, competitive sectors in the telecommunications industry, and now as they seek to grow their services by offering a wireless broadband network that would specifically aid rural America they are being hamstrung by opportunistic groups seeking to translate their rhetoric into government overregulation.

Congressional Democrats Evade Responsibility

Charles Krauthammer has a good article in today's Washington Post that shows the main flaw behind much of the Democrat's economic policy. The problem is not that they are trying to do "something" about global warming, or dependence on foreign oil, but that they are trying to make it look like a free lunch. Instead of making hard decisions and imposing a gasoline or carbon tax, they are trying to push the costs onto car manufacturers and food producers.

House Victory for the First Amendment

Yesterday, the House overwhelmingly voted in favor of the Pence-Hensarling-Flake Amendment to the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Bill. This amendment will rescind the right of the FCC to enforce the Fairness Doctrine, the inherently unfair, archaic legislation, whose reinstitution is being discussed by the left. In a brief, sparkling moment in a life of dim-wittedness, Democratic House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey (Wis.) agreed with the right- bu

Dr. David Gratzer is a practicing physician in Canada who debunks many of the views in Sickothat present Canada, Great Britain and elsewhere as far superior health care systems. First, he discredits the claim that waiting rooms in Canada and elsewhere are free of the logjam seen in the United States:
