FreedomWorks' Matt Kibbe keynotes Young Republican event in Franklin County, Pennsylvania

FreedomWorks president and CEO Matt Kibbe spoke to a great crowd of 130 Young Republicans in Franklin County, PA last night. Matt was the featured speaker to this GOP splinter group that formed to focus on fiscal conservatism in Pennsylvania. These folks are the tea party wing of the GOP in Franklin County, and are challenging the establishment locally, and statewide.

Dear FreedomWorks members,

As one of our million-plus FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your senator and ask him or her to cosponsor S. 2122, the Defense of Environment and Property Act of 2012. Introduced by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), the bill would reform federal water policy to protect land owners. The Environment Protection Agency (EPA) and the Army Corps of Engineers are dangerously out of control. The Defense of Environment and Property Act of 2012 would rein in the powers of the EPA and protect the Constitutional rights of landowners.

What is the SSPICE Act?

The Social Security Preservation through Individual Choice Enhancement Act is a bill introduced in the House (H.R. 3551) by Rep. Jeff Landry (R-LA) and in the Senate (S. 2107) by Senators Mike Lee (R-UT) and Jim DeMint (R-SC). The SSPICE Act would allow each worker to annually decide whether he or she wants to reduce his or her payroll taxes by about 30 percent (i.e., lower his or her taxes from the current level of 6.2 percent of wages to just 4.2 percent).
