FreedomWorks Georgia Defeats Property Tax Hike
Our activists in Gwinnett County, Georgia are celebrating a big victory today against a tax hike proposal. Debbie Dooley of Dacula led the charge, organizing a phone and email campaign that flooded county commissioners' offices, and a protest where 300 or more showed up to take a stand against higher taxes in the county.
Check out the Fox 5 tv coverage.
The rally was against a 25 to 30-percent increase in Gwinnett County's property tax for homes and businesses. It followed a public hearing at the county's headquarters which led the tax commissioner Chairman Charles Bannister to table the vote on the tax increase.
However, that didn't stop the crowd from voicing their opinions about the tax.
And here is the video from another local tv station, 11Alive, the NBC affiliate.
Congratulations to all the Gwinnett County volunteers that showed up and spoke out against higher taxes and less freedom!
