PhRMA Money to Top Obama Advisor

By Max Pappas on Aug 18, 2009

Last week the pharmaceutical lobbying group PhRMA, in a coalition with the union giant SEIU, among others, announced its plan to spend at least $150 million, including $12 million on advertisements in August alone, supporting the Obama-Pelosi-Reid health care legislation.

On Saturday Bloomberg News reported that PhRMA and co. chose two advertising agencies for this massive campaign.

One, AKPD Media, was owned by President Obama's top advisor David Axelrod until last December.

Axelrod is currently officially separated from AKPD Media--except for the $2 million dollars they are paying him.

That's a lot of money, even for an ad agency...except if you're the one "selected" to run the ads for PhRMA's $150 million campaign supporting the legislation your former owner is advising the President to push.
