Telling Videos: Hundreds of Thousands Streaming Down Penn. Ave in 9/12 March on Washington, 175 at 9/13 Response by Left

By Max Pappas on Sep 15, 2009

Here are two great videos by Sophia Elena

The first one is of our 9/12 Taxpayer March on Washington which, by our calculations, about 600,000 to 800,000 people came to.  The footage from the middle of Pennsylvania Avenue of hundreds of thousands of people marching by is amazing.

The second one is of the left's embarrassing response, the 9/13 March on Washington, which the organizer in the video says about 175 attended.

What, you didn't hear about that?  It was a grand failure and the powers that be on the left are doing everything they can to make sure you never know they even tried.

Don't bother checking the web site of Obama's 13-million strong Organizing for America for the publicity they did for the event--they've already pulled it down, sort of like how the Party in Orwell's 1984 would go back and alter newspaper reports to control history to suit their political ends.

Fortunately, everything on the Internet is cached, and you can see at least one of the OFA announcements here.

And the Ministry of Truth hasn't yet sent down the memory hole this Huffington Post article or this Robert Reich article about the planned 9/13 counter-rally.  In addition to being promoted by the Huffington Post and Reich, it was pushed by the very popular far-left blog Daily Kos, which still offers this list of other organizations promoting the event:

Other groups marching on September 13, 2009 for health care reform are Congressman Fattah’s "March for Healthcare", "Medicare for All", and "March on Washington for Health Care."

To be fair, their event was narrower than ours--ours was a general call for fiscal restraint, to let Washington know that, after Bush's Wall Street Bailout, the "stimulus", auto bailouts, an attempt to ram through a health care take over before August recess, and bills raising the cost of energy, we've had enough.  Their march was just to call for the government to take over the 17 percent of the economy that is health care.

Yes, this was the left's big attempt to show Washington that the hundreds of thousands who came to town for 9/12 were the same phony, un-American, manufactured, Astroturf non-entities that came out in force at the April 15th tea parties and at town halls across America throughout August.  Reich, is quoted on the Daily Kos explaining why he was pushing the counter march:

I just want Congress to know how many Americans want universal health care

That, they achieved.

The number is at least 175, and just looks laughable next to our 9/12 march.

That Politico article quotes Reich saying, “Very few things happen in Washington that are in the public's interest when corporations have huge financial stakes in the game, as they obviously do with health care — unless the public is actively involved, engaged and organized."

He's right. Although, it is unclear if he means the $150 million PhRMA is spending to push the sweetheart deal they worked out in backroom deals with Obama in the health care plan or the the billions of dollars that would flow to big health insurance companies if they get the "individual mandate" passed that says the government will force all Americans to buy their product, as President Obama is currently calling for, despite opposing when Hillary Clinton supported it.

Fortunately, as the first video above shows, the public is engaged and standing up to the corporate dream bill the President is selling, wrapped in the false claim that his proposal will make health care better.
