Rep. Darrell Issa: The Democrats' legislative delusion
Over at Politico.com, Republican Congressman Darrell Issa (CA), has an article noting how the history of government-run health care in several of our states has been nothing short of a disaster, and wondering why they persist in pursuing repetition of these "failed experiments".
Please see "Dem proposals: Legislative delusion", Darrell Issa, 11/4/09

One version or another of these bills are going to be passed. The Democrats are going to make sure we have a public option, so we might as well get used to the idea. Maybe you are wrong, maybe it will mean lower health care costs. LOL LOL LOL

Social Security. Since its inception it has always generated more revenue than have been paid out. That all changed when Reagan took office and started stealing from social security in order to offset some of the massive deficits that were produced by his tax cuts.

Wrong Bucko ...
The question was - Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent "Trust" fund and put it into the General fund so that Congress could spend it?
Guess what fool - It was Lyndon Johnson and the Democratically-controlled House and Senate.
and..
In 1983, a Social Security crisis was avoided. President Ronald Reagan formed the Greenspan Commission to study the financial state of Social Security. The commission issued a detailed report calling for numerous, sweeping changes to be implemented in order to strengthen Social Security.
Get the facts jack...

If Social Security had been untouched since Reagan,we would have a 1.5 trillion SS surplus. Despite Clinton passing legislation to lock the trust fund, Bush would up stealing from the coffers in order to pay off the deficit. Remember, there was a surplus during the Clinton years so there was no reason to steal from SS.

Medicare Part D, started by President George W. Bush had come under it's budget forcast, since it's conception. With the passing of the House Bill #3962, onheath care overhaul, on November 7th, it will now be gutted.
Why did the Democrats take a policy, that was carring itself and making money and get rid of it?
