Folks,

Road Closures on 9/12

By Nan Swift on Sep 08, 2010

This is an important announcement regarding the 9/12 Remember in November March on Washington: please be aware of road closures on 9/12.

Many heavily traveled roads, especially those coming from Virginia, will be closed due to the Nation's Triathalon on Sunday, September 12.  From 6 am to 1pm the following roadways will be closed:

Democracy and Power 106:  A politician receives no financial gain for good policy or punishment for bad policy.

It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong. – Thomas Sowell

Coming to town early for the 9/12 Remember in November march?  There's lots to do on Friday night, including FreedomWorks Chairman Dick Armey at the National Press Club and thanking the troops outside Walter Reed.  Details below.

President Obama's rhetoric about the economy continues to be at odds with the facts.  The "stimulus" depressed the economy. The "Summer of Recovery" saw 283,000 jobs lost.

On Monday, President Obama took yet another swipe at those who oppose his government expansion policies:

When it comes to just about everything we’ve done to strengthen our middle class, to rebuild our economy, almost every Republican in Congress says no…If I said the sky was blue, they say no. If I said fish live in the sea, they’d say no… Their slogan is ‘No we can’t.'

In two recent stories, The Daily Caller's Matt Boyle reports on FreedomWorks' second annual Taxpayer March on Washington and our fight against the Left's race politics with our latest project called "Diverse Tea".

Democracy and Power 105:  The Politician seeks power

The desire to rule is the mother of heresies. – St. John Chrysostom

When a person enters Congress or the Presidency, they seek and use the immense and coercive power of government.

According to the Associated Press, President Obama is currently working on a plan that he hopes will increase job creation before the November elections.  The bill, which will cost taxpayers at least $50 billion, will focus mainly on infrastructure.  The AP reports:

The goals of the infrastructure plan include: rebuilding 150,000 miles of roads; constructing and maintaining 4,000 miles of railways, enough to go coast-to-coast; and rehabilitating or reconstructing 150 miles of airport runway
