TAKE ACTION!
District Office Visits
Please take time to visit your Senators’ and Representative’s district offices. It's effective. It's fun. This is an important way to take your message right to their doorstep. Go by yourself or take some friends. Your Congressmen need to hear from you in person.
Letter Writing Party
Discuss the issue and write a clear, straight-forward letter explaining why you support The Energy Tax Prevention Act of 2011. You can reference the talking points in our Energy Freedom Action Kit if you get stuck. Be sure to send us pictures!
Attend a Rally or Event
Find nearby events of all sorts on FreedomConnector.
Become a member of your state's FreedomConnector group to easily add your own upcoming events whether it be a protest, an office visit, a vigil, or letter- writing party. From there you can easily spread the word through Twitter and Facebook. This is an easy to use tool that you can use to discuss and organize events with others in your area.
Other Ideas
- Hold an imprompu demonstration outside your legislator's district office. Make sure you call the local media to get press coverage.
- Join your state's FreedomConnector page to recruit, organize, and brainstorm for ideas.
- Take our Energy Freedom Action Kit door to door to educate your neighbors and urge them to get active.
- Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. Congressmen often read them.
- Invite climate change skeptics and free market opponents of cap and trade and hold a town hall meeting to answer questions people might have.
- Call local talk radio stations to voice your opposition.
- Above all, send pictures!
