Cantor to Offer New Health Savings Bill

Rep Eric Cantor has decided to do away with his proposed health savings account bill and formulate a new one. Concern arose over his initial version of the bill because it called for a large tax hike.

“It’s never been his intention to increase taxes,” Cantor spokesman Geoff Embler said. “This bill is about giving individuals more control over their healthcare dollars. He is looking at making some revisions and introducing a bicameral bill.”

Cantor hopes to have a reformulated bill introduced by the July 4th recess. A similar version of this bill, without the tax increases, was introduced in the Senate by Tom Coburn.
