Confirm Scott Pruitt to Lead the EPA

Following Sen. Tom Carper’s (D-Del.) remarks Tuesday calling for a delay to the confirmation process for Scott Pruitt, President-elect Trump’s nominee to lead the EPA, FreedomWorks CEO Adam Brandon comments:

“Business and consumers face a regulatory burden of nearly $2 trillion and the EPA is the worst offender. Attorney General Pruitt has shown a willingness to address the egregious overreach of the EPA and the Senate should act quickly to confirm him. It would be irresponsible to hold up the process for what appears to be purely partisan bellyaching.”

As of Tuesday, FreedomWorks has driven more than 29,000 messages to senators and is organizing in-state office visits in support of Attorney General Pruitt’s nomination.

FreedomWorks activists visited the offices of Sens. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.). Visits are planned to the offices of Sens. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Bill Nelson (D-Fla.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.), Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), Tim Kaine (D-Va.) and Mark Warner (D-Va.).

FreedomWorks aims to educate, build, and mobilize the largest network of activists advocating the principles of smaller government, lower taxes, free markets, personal liberty and the rule of law. For more information, please visit www.FreedomWorks.org or contact Jason Pye at JPye@FreedomWorks.org.
