CSE Ensures 'End Lawsuit Abuse' Message is Heard Loud and Clear

    08/30/2000

On August 26th, an estimated 40,000 activists converged in Puyallup, Washington for King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties' 2000 Annual Grand Old Party Picnic and CSE was there to educate them on lawsuit abuse and to show them how they, as grassroots citizens, can make a difference in this issue.

The 2000 Annual Grand Old Party Picnic will be the largest single party grassroots gathering between now and the General Election in November and we ensured the message to end lawsuit abuse was heard loud and clear.

CSE staff members manned three booths, briefing activists on such active federal bills as the Class Action Farness Act and the Litigation Fairness Act, signing up over 500 new activists while Sharkman and Uncle Sam combed the streets looking for new recruits.

The illustrious Regis Cheatum of Dewey, Cheatum, and Howe and the Honorable Slade Gorton were able to join us in our performance of "Who Wants to be a Trial Lawyer Billionaire?" in front of an estimated crowd of 15,000.

Dr. William Bennett, former Secretary of Education and author of The Book of Virtues and Rush Limbaugh, political commentator, gave keynote addresses as well as several other state legislators and candidates.
