Dunc Chaplin Named Strafford County Chair

New Hampshire Citizens for a Sound Economy (NH CSE) State Director Chuck McGee announced today that retired Col. Dunc Chaplin has been selected as the organization’s Strafford County Chairman.

“We are honored to have the volunteer efforts and experience of Dunc Chaplin helping us promote the issue of Social Security reform and our New Hampshire Freedom Agenda,” said McGee. “Dunc is a perfect example of the difference that can be made through citizen involvement and citizen participation.”

After 30 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, Chaplin spent the following 23 years with his own business as a certified genealogist and also as a land owner-manager of a NH Certified Tree Farm, and the founder or an organizer and chief officer of the governing bodies of a wide range of N.H. not-for-profit organizations. He is the President Emeritus of The Gathering of the Scottish Clans, which sponsors the successful New Hampshire Highland Games; an active member of numerous veterans’ organizations in Strafford County; and involved with a variety of town and community committees in the Town of Strafford. Chaplin, who holds a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia, holds a M.A. in Management from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri with a major in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, and a major from Pepperdine University in Human Resources Management.

The Strafford County Chair will focus on recruiting new members, educating the public and organizing events on behalf of NH CSE.

“With the help of our Strafford County Chair Dunc Chaplin, NH CSE plans to be present at a number of political and community events over the course of the next twelve months and we are presently working on hosting an educational meeting on Social Security reform in Farmington,” continued McGee. “NH CSE is a citizen action group dedicated to more freedom and less taxes and nobody believes in that message more than Dunc Chaplin – a man who has dedicated his life to the service of his state and country.”
