FreedomWorks Announces 2014 Activist of the Year: Utahn Arturo Morales-Llan

FreedomWorks announced, in conjunction with the Utah State GOP Convention, Activist of the Year Arturo Morales. The Activists of the Year award is typically presented to a local activist that does the most to further the pro-growth and pro-liberty cause. Out of 6.9 million activists across the country, Arturo stood out as a true defender of freedom.

The award will be presented by FreedomWorks CEO Adam Brandon during the Utah Republican Organizing Convention on Saturday, August 15 at 9:15am at the FreedomWorks booth in Exhibit Hall 3 located at the South Towne Exposition Center in the exhibit hall; the convention center is located at 9575 State St., Sandy, UT 84070.

FreedomWorks CEO Adam Brandon noted, "Arturo is one of our best activists. Hearing about his amazing journey, and all he’s done to promote liberty and freedom is an inspiring story. We can all learn something from his hard work and dedication to the cause of freedom."

“It is an honor to be presented with the FreedomWorks 2014 Activist of the Year Award,” responded local activist Arturo Morales-Llan. Utah has led in volunteerism for eight years running, according to the Corporation for National and Community Service. While I may be individually receiving this award, in reality this honor is truly recognition of both the quantity and quality of grassroots activists’ contributions which have made Utah the best-managed state in the country.”

Morales-Llan added, “Given FreedomWorks mission to advocate for smaller government, lower taxes, free markets, personal liberty and rule of law, it is no surprise to see such a large number of FreedomWorks advocates in Utah who share the same goals. On behalf of the many Utah activists throughout the State of Utah that so selflessly sacrifice precious resources and time away from their families to make Utah a great place to live, I am honored and humbled to accept this award.”

FreedomWorks aims to educate, build, and mobilize the largest network of activists advocating the principles of smaller government, lower taxes, free markets, personal liberty and the rule of law.
