FreedomWorks Announces New Director of Strategic Initiatives

FreedomWorks today announced that Neil Siefring has joined the team in the role of Director of Strategic Initiatives. In this role, Siefring will develop, oversee and help implement programs and projects that support FreedomWorks’ vision and short and long-term plans. He will be part of the organization’s executive leadership team.

“Neil brings a lot of legislative and policy experience to the organization from his time on Capitol Hill and as a congressional liaison in the executive branch,” said FreedomWorks CEO Adam Brandon. “Neil is a great guy, a hard worker, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him on board at FreedomWorks. His experience with the inner workings of Congress and unique knowledge of the challenges our nation faces provides us with an immediate asset who can hit the ground running, help us grow our organization, and make freedom work.”

“FreedomWorks stands for less government, lower taxes, and more economic freedom, all of which are needed now to revive the American dream,” said Siefring. “I am excited to join the team at FreedomWorks in advancing their conservative agenda at a pivotal time in the history of our Republic.”

About Neil Siefring

Neil Siefring is the Director of Strategic Initiatives for FreedomWorks. He has spent over a decade working on and around Capitol Hill. Neil is a contributor to The Daily Caller and is a faculty member of the Leadership Institute.

As a staffer for several members of the U.S. House of Representatives, Neil has drafted legislation and formulated and executed strategies that have led to bill passage. He has staffed committee hearings for members of the House. This included providing regular strategic advice, conducting research, preparing questions, opening statements, and press releases. He has managed legislative staff to help members of Congress achieve their goals. Neil has also prepared executive branch witnesses for contentious congressional hearings and briefings.

Most recently, Neil was the legislative director for a leading conservative-libertarian member of the House. He was responsible for helping develop and implement the member’s legislative agenda. Neil monitored activity on the floor of the House, supervised staff, and provided analysis on legislative and policy matters. Neil has helped build and work with coalitions of stakeholders, both on and off Capitol Hill, to advance legislative agendas.

During his time in the House, Neil also served as an appropriations legislative assistant for a chairman of a House appropriations subcommittee. He spent time in the executive branch working as a congressional liaison at the Department of Homeland Security for the Federal Emergency Management Agency. In that capacity, he was deployed to New Orleans as Liaison Unit Lead for External Affairs in the Joint Information Center for the response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Neil earned his undergraduate degree magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from The American University, School of International Service, a master’s degree from the University of Cambridge, Magdalene College, and a law degree from the College of William and Mary School of Law.
