FreedomWorks Applauds Governor LePage’s Opposition to Medicaid Expansion

Following Governor Paul LePage’s pledge to veto Medicaid expansion through ObamaCare in Maine, FreedomWorks Director of Grassroots Noah Wall commented:

“It’s unfortunate that some Republican state lawmakers are still pushing expansion of this fundamentally broken program. Governor LePage, who has already vetoed Medicaid expansion five times, is right to continue rejecting President Obama’s radical health care agenda.”

“Expanding Medicaid would be unsustainable for Maine’s budget, costing taxpayers at least $800 million over a decade. Governor LePage sees the risk, and he’s acting as any fiscally conservative should by rejecting another misguided attempt by liberal politicians to sell out taxpayers.”
