FreedomWorks Hand Delivers Petitions Urging Congress to Oppose Socialized Price Controls

WASHINGTON, D.C. — FreedomWorks hand delivered nearly 200,000 signed petitions to Senate offices urging Congress to oppose price controls on prescription drugs. This effort was part of a national campaign to stop price controls and fix patients, not prices.

Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:

“The United States leads the world in pharmaceutical development, and price controls on prescription drugs would cripple this important industry. Americans depend on breakthrough cures made possible by prescription drugs developed right here in America. Price controls are a stepping stone on the path towards socialized healthcare that puts bureaucratic rules and regulations ahead of patients and families.

“Members of the Senate, especially those claiming to be conservative, need to not only oppose these price controls, but do so vocally. We cannot allow our country to be placed on the glidepath towards socialism. Anyone who professes to believe in individual liberty and limited government must vocally oppose price controls so that they are never attempted again going forward.”
