FreedomWorks Joins Coalition of Grassroots Groups to Protest a Republican State Committee Endorsement in the PA Senate Race

WHAT: FreedomWorks will join a coalition of grassroots groups throughout Pennsylvania to protest any move by the Republican State Committee to endorse a candidate to challenge Senator Bob Casey, Jr. in November. The coalition will hold a press conference calling on other grassroots organizations to stand in solidarity and demand the state GOP stop making endorsements in Republican primaries.

WHEN: The press conference will begin on January 28th at 10:30AM ET.

WHERE: The Hershey Lodge, 325 University Drive, Hershey, PA, 17033, in the Emperor Room D.

WHY: Now is the time for grassroots organizations throughout Pennsylvania to oppose an endorsement by GOP power brokers. It is crucial for Pennsylvania voters and families to decide which candidate’s message can best lead the Commonwealth forward, not a party organization that has historically led conservatives astray.

“It’s important that Republican voters understand how their primary election has been hijacked before they even cast their votes,” commented Lois Kaneshiki of the Blair County Republican Women and the Pennsylvania Precinct Project. “Only the conservative grassroots can return the Republican party to conservative principles.”

Anastasia Przybylski, FreedomWorks Pennsylvania State Coordinator and Co-Chair of the Kitchen Table Patriots added, “I lost faith in the Pennsylvania State Committee when they endorsed Senator Arlen Specter over Pat Toomey in 2004.  It was then that I realized the party was out of touch with fiscal conservatives like me.”
