FreedomWorks to Obama: Get Over It

Following President Obama’s press conference Tuesday, in which he discussed the vacancy on the Supreme Court, FreedomWorks CEO Adam Brandon commented:

“For someone who is supposedly a constitutional scholar, President Obama seems to be forgetting that the Constitution, at least my copy of it, states that the Senate’s role in this process is ‘advice and consent.’ The Senate is under absolutely no obligation to entertain President Obama’s nominee to the Supreme Court.”

“The Senate has a constitutional role to play in this process, and it’s one that Obama, when he was a senator, used in a failed attempt to stall the nomination of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. My, how quickly we forget history. As he so often said, elections have consequences. Republicans run the Senate, they control process, and President Obama needs to get over it.”
