FreedomWorks Oregon Launches Campaign for Affordable and Reliable Energy (CARE)

Who:

FreedomWorks Oregon Director Russ Walker will be joined by economist Bill Conerly, members of the Oregon legislature, along with consumers, small business owners, and farmers effected by spiraling energy costs.

What:

FreedomWorks Oregon is preparing to launch a major policy campaign promoting the development of clean, affordable, and reliable sources of energy. The recent spike in energy prices hurts families and costs Oregonians jobs. Oregon needs to have a diverse portfolio of energy choices to support long term economic growth and ease family budgets.

Oregonians do not have to choose between reliable energy and the environment. Existing technologies and new sources of energy can both be leveraged to provide clean and reliable energy. Too often the energy debate is hijacked by anti-energy extremists opposed to developing potential geothermal, wave, hydro, natural gas, and wind sources. These extremists are opposed not just to energy development, but to our modern way of life.

Also part of the CARE campaign launch, FreedomWorks will distribute a new poll taken of Oregon voters focusing on energy issues, in addition to taking a new campaign web site live.
The CARE campaign is part of a larger national voter education and turnout effort by FreedomWorks to unlock domestic and emerging sources of energy for American consumers. FreedomWorks is a grassroots organization with over a half a million members nationwide and over 30,000 activists in Oregon dedicated to lower taxes, less government, and more freedom.
