FreedomWorks Protests Al “Carbon Footprint” Gore’s Speech

Before Al Gore's speech about climate change and energy policy today, a group of FreedomWorks protesters gathered outside the Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall to picket the event.

We held up signs calling Gore out for his hypocrisy, and delivered a message for sound economic and energy policies. We drew a huge picture of "Al Gore's Carbon Footprint" pointing out that he uses more energy each month than the average American uses each year. And we collected donations to offset Al Gore's carbon footprint — which we will use to plant trees.

The crowd was not particularly happy about our presence, but we soldiered on. We engaged in a lot of debate and suffered the slings and arrows of outrageous liberal attacks. But delivering a message of lower taxes, more domestic energy and more freedom was worth the trouble.

Hopefully we reached at least some of the attendees with our message, and made them think twice about listening to a man that asks Americans to change their ways while he still refuses to change his ways.

As gas prices continue to soar and the demand for energy skyrockets, we can only hope that our message will eventually win the day. As one of our more pithy signs read, DRILL DRILL DRILL!
