FreedomWorks Sends Anti-Earmarks Statement to the Rules Committee

FreedomWorks President Adam Brandon made the following statement on the release of FreedomWorks’ statement to the House Rules Committee on earmarks:

"Chairman Pete Sessions and others are trying to bring back one of the hallmark tools of the DC swamp. Republicans following his lead could not be more tone deaf. Earmarks are indeed the ‘currency of corruption’ by which members get bought off to support more reckless government spending and have led to legal problems for members, including some who served prison time for scandals related to their love of pork-barrel spending.

“We don’t need more incentives to pass reckless spending bills; we need more members fighting corruption and cronyism in Congress and against the mounting debt that is burdening our nation.”
