FreedomWorks Urges HHS to Wash its Hands of Prescription Drug Price Controls Proposal

WASHINGTON, D.C. — in opposition to The Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) proposal to institute price controls on prescription drugs, FreedomWorks distributed hand sanitizer to employees and passerby outside of the Washington, DC HHS headquarters, urging Sec. Azar’s HHS to “wash its hands of the price controls.” A link to the video can be found by clicking on the image below.

Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks’ President, commented:

“Given the gargantuan size of our federal bureaucracy, there is no reason that HHS should even be toying with the idea of prescription drug price controls. They should be spending their time continuing to uphold President Trump’s promise to ‘drain the swamp’ and cut regulatory red tape.

“This is especially urgent considering the fact that an avowed socialist is currently the frontrunner for the Democratic Party presidential nomination. The deregulatory actions of this administration and ensuing economic success have shown what the free market can do. There’s no reason to reverse course now.”

To date, FreedomWorks nationwide grassroots community has submitted roughly 7,700 comments urging HHS to reject socialist style price controls.
