The Continuing Resolution (CR) that allows funding for the federal government expires on September 30th and must be renewed in order for the doors to stay open in Washington. The CR is the best chance we will get to withdraw funds from ObamaCare. This can be done by attaching bills by Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) or Congressman Tom Graves (R-GA) to the CR, which will totally defund ObamaCare.
But for the Cruz/Graves effort to have teeth, Republicans in both chambers of Congress must all be committed to absolutely refusing to vote for any spending bill that contains funding for ObamaCare. Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) and Congressman Mark Meadows (R-NC) are leading the charge to get their colleagues to commit to this approach, by putting their signatures to a letter affirming that they will refuse to vote for a CR that contains ObamaCare funding.
Support for the Cruz/Graves bills is absolutely meaningless without also signing the Lee/Meadows letter. Harry Reid and his Democrats will have no incentive to compromise unless they know the Republicans are willing to take a hard stance - even allowing the government to be shut down, if necessary - in order to stop the catastrophically unworkable and unaffordable health care law from taking effect this January.
But Republican leadership is either afraid or unwilling to defund ObamaCare, and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is personally leading the effort to keep senators away from Lee's letter. He has even succeeded in convincing five Republicans who had signed to take their names off the letter. In the House, Congressman Meadows' letter is getting no support from Republican leadership, and only about a third of the Republican House Members have signed his letter.
This cannot stand. Republicans have spent the last three years working to get rid of this unpopular, unaffordable, unworkable law, and there is no excuse for giving up now. Accordingly, FreedomWorks has taken the extraodrinary position of issuing a Key Vote on the letter - signatories will be scored on our online scorecard.
Below is the list of Republican Senators and where they stand on the Cruz bill and the Lee letter. 14 Senators have signed the Lee letter thus far, while five others have signed the letter but then taken their names off. (Updated: 8/22)

TAKE ACTION and tell your Members of Congress to promise that they will commit to defunding ObamaCare by signing the Lee/Meadows letters HERE.
Wow I would suggest looking up the term: "Socialism". It does not mean stand for an automatic answer to anything that the GOP doesn't happen to agree with.
my roomate's step-mother makes $60 hourly on the laptop. She has been out of a job for 10 months but last month her pay was $19797 just working on the laptop for a few hours. about his JOBS70.ℂOM
Dear Congress and Senate members,
We appreciate your service and strength in protecting us. I'm requesting that Obamacare is defunded and that IF ANY member of the Senate or Congress votes to fund Obamacare. That you must receive Obamacare and not receive the Congress or Senate healthcare. This will show that you are equal not better than the American public. Government needs to treat the American public with respect and protect their rights. Thank you God Bless America
I made an account just to provide you with some better information. Search for the full text text of the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as ObamaCare. You should be able to find it on gpo.gov.
If you hit Ctrl-F and type in 1312, click down a couple, you'll get to Section 1312. In Section 1312, Subsection d, point 3, Part D (a segment titled "Members of congress in the exchange."), you'll find the following text:
Requirement.--Notwithstanding any other
provision of law, after the effective date of this
subtitle, the only health plans that the Federal
Government may make available to Members of
Congress and congressional staff with respect to
their service as a Member of Congress or
congressional staff shall be health plans that
are--
(I) created under this Act (or an
amendment made by this Act); or
(II) offered through an Exchange
established under this Act (or an
amendment made by this Act).
To put it simply - Congress will no longer get the insurance plans they currently receive, and will have to go through the ObamaCare insurance exchange market or buy their own private insurance, i.e. the options open to everyone else.
Wish granted!
Senator Jeff Sessions has signed on to defund Obamacare.
Like that will do any good. Sorry folks, but you all lost this debate a long time ago. Obamacare passed. Get used to it.
I think its about time that "grass roots" organizations like this and others that were from the start purposely engineered and started by umbrella groups and the various lobbys, industry representatives and individual wealthy conservatives whom have a business interest in seeing such pieces of legislation like Obamacare, energy policy, environmental regulations, and social programs be less effective come forward and make the origins of this financial backing evident, front and center. Most of us know anyway.
The truth of the matter is that many of us- and when I say us- I speak in terms of the growing demographic of voters who see right through tactics such as these know that the this movement was clearly created by those aforementioned outside interests to try and influence government to their liking. This is not the way the US government was meant to be influenced.
Luckily for the majority of us, its rather clear that this movement is not only failing, but the GOP it loves to support is also having an identity crisis: On one hand they lost the last election because the demographics are working against them: Younger voters, minorities, and immigrants all favor the Democratic party by a huge margin over the GOP. At the same time the core base of the GOP is not only shrinking in size, but their numbers- even if they voted in full- aren't enough to win elections. The GOP of course realizes they will have to change and appeal more to the demographic they need in order to win but at the same time, since they went after their core base for so long and decided to become so grossly, over-the-top conservative they have more or less painted themselves into a corner. They can't please both sides because they have gone too far down one path and too far to turn things around.
As far as Obamacare, this- as well as all of the other tactics that came before it will also fail. We will have public healthcare. That is a fact.
I would suggest looking up the term: "Socialism". It does not mean stand for an automatic answer to anything that the GOP doesn't happen to agree with.
If we fund Obamacare our debt will skyrocket...oops, that's right it's already in the stratosphere and our grandchildren's grandchildren will be paying for our "representatives" greed and arrogance!
I'm with Thomas Sowell - only an intellectual (be they liberal or RINO) has the arrogance to believe they can make socialism work, when throughout history it has failed every time it has been tried!
