Orlando, FL – More than 400 activists showed up for Florida Citizens for a Sound Economy’s (FL CSE’s) inaugural activist convention, the FL CSE Issues Forum 2000. This was the scene for more than 400 dedicated FL CSE members to learn about key economic policy issues: Ending Lawsuit Abuse, School Choice, Social Security Reform, Common-Sense Environmental Policies, Expanding the E-conomy, and Presidential Politics and Policy.

An Exercise in Activism Featured guests for the issue presentations included Members of Congress, key state officials from Florida and Ohio, and notable academic and business leaders from all over the nation. In addition to the presentations, CSE members were empowered with regional strategies to get our issues out in front during the 2000 election cycle.

    “We need CSE in Ohio”
    – Ohio Secretary of State, J. Kenneth Blackwell

Thanks again and I would like to share with you that everyone with whom I have spoken since the seminar has had only good things to say about it. You guys certainly outdid yourselves securing knowledgeable speakers who had no trouble communicating to us many important facts and we appreciate your efforts. Sincerely, C. Jane Rankie,CSE Activist

“CSE is a great organization! I can’t believe this crowd. I’ve spoke at weekend conferences before, and folks usually leave by the afternoon. Not your crowd though, the room was full, and they were so engaged.” -- U.S. Representative Jim DeMint
