CSE Grabs the Attention of the Media

Earlier this week, CSE President Paul Beckner’s commentary on the upcoming battle over Social Security reform was featured in the Washington Times. In his commentary, Paul warns conservatives about the Left’s plan to scare senior citizens this fall. Texas CSE’s efforts in opposition to Lieutenant Governor Bill Ratcliff’s proposed statewide property tax received the attention of the Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle, and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. In addition, the Austin American-Statesman’s lead editorial on April 4, criticized CSE for successfully blocking liberal bias in Texas’ textbooks. We appreciate the recognition. Activists Rally Against New Taxes and Health Care Restrictions in Maryland

CSE activists from across the state converged on Annapolis to rally against proposals under consideration in the Maryland General Assembly that would raise taxes on Maryland’s middle-income families and restrict access to life-saving prescription drugs. After chanting, “No new taxes,” and “Politicians make lousy doctors,” on the steps of the capitol, the activists hit legislative offices to let their legislators know that another tax increase would only grow the size of government, and that drug price control schemes would turn Maryland into a second-class state in regard to pharmaceutical innovation. Representatives from the media were also in attendance, including WJZ Channel 13 of Baltimore. For more information, click here.

North Carolina CSE Tax Tour Rallies Activists at All Stops

North Carolina CSE has been crisscrossing the state educating voters on the current state budget crises, providing them with the training, information, and materials they need to have their voices effectively heard in the battles that lie ahead. This past week, CSE’s tax tour made 11 stops, reaching out to hundreds of voters. A majority of the state legislature signed CSE’s “no new tax” pledge after the last election cycle. CSE and our activists will hold them accountable.
