Key Vote: See How Your Representative Voted on the Continuing Resolution Here!

Today the House of Representative voted to pass a $1.126 trillion Continuing Resolution (CR) without any extended debate and without allowing any amendments to be offered. This was a tremendous abrogation of regular order in the budget process which has been repeated multiple times over the years, and a sign that the leadership in Congress remains unconcerned about the tremendous deficit spending that has lead to our astonishing $16.6 trillion in debt.

FreedomWorks initially released a Key Vote No on the rule for the Continuing Resolution, demanding that Congress at least allow an "open rule", which would have allowed for Members to offer amendments to reduce the levels of spending in the bill. Instead, the Rules Committee issued a "closed rule", which limited debate and allowed no amendments. The Rule, H.Res. 99, passed, 212-197, with only 16 Republicans voting against it. The 16 champions who voted no were:

Amash

Brooks

Bridenstine

Broun

Fleming

Gingrey

Gohmert

Huelskamp

Jones

Kingston

Massie

McClintock

Pearce

Rohrabacher

Salmon

Yoho

The House then immediately proceeded to a token debate and voted on the actual Continuing Resolution itself, H.R. 933. The CR passed, 267-151, with 53 Democrats in support and only 14 brave Republicans voting against:

Amash

Bridenstine

Broun

DeSantis

DesJarlais

Duncan (TN)

Gingrey

Gohmert

Kingston

Massie

McClintock

Posey

Salmon

Stockman

I BELIEVE IF OUR REPRESENTATIVES AND SENATORS WOULD VOTE NO ON EVERY BILL I BELIEVE AMERICA WOULD MAYBE COME OUT OF THE HOLE WE ARE IN. I WISH THEY WOULD DO THIS FOR SIX MONTHS.
