Key Vote YES on Amendments to Energy and Water Appropriations

As one of our over 6.9 million FreedomWorks activists nationwide, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to vote YES on the following amendments to the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriation Act, H.R. 2028. FreedomWorks may score votes for any of the following fiscally conservative amendments in its 2015 Congressional Scorecard.

Additional amendments may be added to this list as necessary:

  • McClintock Amendment – To reduce spending for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, DOE-Nuclear Energy, and Fossil Energy Research and Development by $3.2 billion

  • McClintock Amendment – To reduce several accounts unauthorized in current law to last year’s appropriations levels, saving $105 million.

  • Byrne Amendment – To eliminate EERE green energy subsidies.

  • Rothfus Amendment – To prohibit using the “Social Cost of Carbon” guidance that assigns a dollar amount to carbon emissions.

  • Hudson Amendment – To cut the bill’s funding back to 2008 levels.

FreedomWorks may count their any votes on these amendments as Key Votes when calculating our Economic Freedom Scorecard for 2015. The scorecard is used to determine eligibility for the FreedomFighter Award, which recognizes Members of Congress who consistently vote to support economic freedom.
