Lawmakers In Boise To Clash Over Property Taxes

The 2006 Extraordinary Session of the Idaho Legislature is now underway. We’ll be watching and, in New West newsblog style, we’ll post the best of the blogosphere and traditional media coverage links as the day progresses.

Here’s the Idaho Statesman’s rundown on the property tax session. Gregory Hahn, Shawna Gamache and Bill Roberts will cover the action all day.

Idaho Freedom Works, a group that opposes any kind of land-tax, has posted their on-the-other-hand review of the differences between Governor Risch’s and the Democrats’ proposed tax relief plans here.

Julie Fanselow at Red State Rebels has a great roundup of what the Senate and House Democratic caucuses are doing to try to “stop the train” of Governor Risch’s property tax proposal. Betsy Russell’s Eye on Boise has another take on what the Dems are up to.

You can watch live coverage of the session at KTVB.
