NH CSE Hosts Third Stop of Choose Your Future Tour

Over 80 political and civic leaders gathered at the home of Ambassador Joseph & Augusta Petrone on Tuesday evening to discuss the future of Social Security with special guest Michael Tanner of the Cato Institute.

NH CSE and For Our Grandchildren have partner in New Hampshire to inject the issue of Social Security Reform into the Presidential Primary. Michael Tanner serves as Director of Health and Welfare Studies at the Cato Institute and is recognized nationwide as an expert on Social Security.

“We are honored to have Mr. Tanner join us as we hosted the third stop of our “Choose Your Future” Social Security reform tour and are grateful to the Petrone’s for opening their home so we could share our message of responsible reform,” said NH CSE State Director Chuck McGee. “The civic and political leaders who joined us Tuesday evening were very much engaged and seemed to embraced our message of responsible reform and we are hoping they will help press our elected officials and candidates for president to take action on Social Security.”

NH CSE has mailed all Democratic and Republican candidates copies of its Presidential Candidates Social Security Reform Pledge and will be pressing the contenders to sign the pledge.

In addition, NH CSE and For Our Grandchildren will be hosting the fourth stop of its “Choose Your Future” Social Security reform tour on September 15th when Dr. Jose Pinera joins Sen. John Sununu at St. Anselm College’s Institute of Politics for a free address starting at 7pm.

Dr. Jose Pinera was the chief architect in reforming the Chilean Social Security system and is recognized globally as an expert in market based reforms of pension systems.

“The ‘Choose Your Future’ is gaining momentum with each and every event and we are looking forward to having Dr. Pinera come to New Hampshire and highlight the issue of Social Security reform. When it is all said and done we believe the candidates will have little choice but to address the issue,” concluded McGee.
