Pelosi Inflicts Arbitrary Governance

A government with moral and legal authority promulgates written rules and universally, impartially and uniformly enforces the rules, which provides a predictable and stable legal order on which to base economic and personal decisions.  The law prevails, not the proclamation or arbitrary decision of a ruler, government bureaucrat, the enforcer (e.g., policeman) or judge.

 Pelosi Inflicts Arbitrary Governance

Nancy Pelosi persistently inflicts arbitrary rules upon America.  Infamously, she stated the followiing when discussing the ObamaCare bill:

We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it.

A year and a half after passing ObamaCare, America still does not know the content of the law or its effects on the country.  Our disjointed legislation gave broad authority to the bureaucrats to write the rules and regulations for a healthcare bill that none of us really know exactly what it says or what it means to everyone.  Hence, government gnomes are imposing thousands of decisions concerning taxes, waivers, rules for insurers, doctors, businesses and the public and no one has any idea of what it all means.

Last week, Pelosi continued to inflict her arbitrary governance by dodging the subject of 1,800 ObamaCare waivers.  When asked about the waivers, she claimed their consequences were insignificant. as reported by Real Clear Politics

They’re small. I couldn’t speak to all 1,800 of them, but some of the lists that I have seen have been very, very small companies. They will not have a big impact on the economy of our country.

Insignificant.  Wow.   What happens if your competitor gets a waiver and you don’t?  apparently, McDonalds isn’t required to abide by certian parts of ObamaCare, but their competitor will be, which makes an enormous difference to the investing, hiring and managing of the affected companies and their customers.

Pelosi continues to blithely violate the moral imperative of equal and consistent governance.  Americans invest their time and money based on a predictable and stable legal order, which includes all businesses that are manned, owned and operated by Americans.  Every citizen must know that government will universally, impartially and uniformly enforce the law when they see fit.

Ah…then, there is Pelosi’s zeal for arbitrary rule, which also attacks the biggest employers.  Pelosi doesn’t worry about the millions of dollars Boeing has invested in South Carolina or the hundreds of lost jobs.  According to Pelosi, Boeing must accept the union and they can do business in South Carolina.  The following is Pelosi’s response to Maria Bartiromo of CNBC, according to Real Clear Politics:

Bartiromo: “You’ve got the labor relations board, the situation with Boeing. I mean, for starters, do you think it’s right that Boeing has to close down that plant in South Carolina because it’s non-union?”

Pelosi: “Yes. I don’t think they close it down. I would hope they would make it union.”

Referencing her question on Boeing, Bartiromo states the chaos caused by arbitrary rule:

CEOs tell me all the time that they don’t know the details of Dodd Frank. It’s the law of the land and we’re still writing the rules. We’ve got the EPA making decisions and legislation. Supposed to come from Congress and it seems like we’re going around things and the EPA is coming out with its own rules.

Sadly, few politicians – Democrats and Republicans – are concerned about a predictable and stable legal order.  Because of Pelosi’s fervor and outspokenness, she reveals the mind set of most politicians, which greatly harms America.

As usual, DC politicians will not give up their power.  Positive change will only be caused by We the People.  First, We the People must appreciate and demand good government.  A predictable and stable legal order is essential.
