South Florida CSE holds first chapter meeting!

The first meeting of the Palm Beach chapter of CSE was a rousing success. Thirty eight people attended the gathering led by John Hallman, South Florida CSE Volunteer Chapter Leader. John gave a briefing on CSE’s 2003 Freedom Agenda as well as a state issue overview.

The main issue discussed was the president’s tax package and what activists can do to encourage their elected officials to pass it. Everyone received the CSE call to action to contact CSE’s toll-free member hotline at 1-888-564-6273 and lobby the Senate 6-pack (6 targeted Senators standing in the way of the president’s plan).

On the state level John discussed medical malpractice reform, as well as other important state issues. Special guest speaker, Sheila Anderson from the Florida Taxpayers Coalition spoke about the issue of property rights and what Floridians can do take action and protect themselves from higher taxes and excessive government regulations.

CSE member John Parsons briefed attendees on Regional Transportation Authority Legislation for Palm Beach county as the end of the meeting concluded with an interactive roundtable discussion where attendees were invited to address the room on issues they felt were important to them.

We would like to thank CSE member John Earley for organizing this meeting and we look forward to the next one!
