Stop The Ahoskie Bypass – North Carolina FreedomWorks Examines Issue

On Tuesday, April 1, North Carolina FreedomWorks Legislative Liaison Kathy Hartkopf and Nash County Activist Donna Taylor attend the "Stop The Ahokie Bypass" meeting held in Ahoskie, NC.  The crowd of more than 100 heard from local county commissioners, the Ahoskie Mayor, their representative in the state house, and of course, from FreedomWorks.

State Representative Annie Mobley energized the crowd when speaking to concerns of condemnation, "When is this going to stop?  This is a good place to start!"

North Carolina FreedomWorks Legislative Liaison Kathy Hartkopf reminded the crowd of her statement at the group's very first meeting, "When I attended your first meeting in December, I told you that the OLF battle is almost over in Washington and Beaufort Counties and if the citizens of Washington and Beaufort Counties can be victorious over the United States Navy's plan to build an Outlying Landing Field (OLF), you can be victorious against the Department of Transportation (DOT).  Tonight I am delighted to report to you that that battle is indeed over.  The citizens of Washington and Beaufort Counties did indeed beat the United States Navy and you can indeed beat the DOT!"

Grassroots organizers Garry Terry and Kent Williams have done an amazing job organizing the Stop The Ahoskie Bypass effort.  Way to go!
