The Entrepreneur's Example

WHY am I an Entrepreneur?
My life long  HERO (my Father) set the example for me to become an Entrepreneur - here's how:
My father was a farmer most of his life and when not farming he was a railroad track foreman.  When he was farming I recall how I always knew he was the smartest farmer in our community - he would work 12 hours in the fields and then come home and read farming materials for several hours (a student of his business).  He was the first farmer in our community that used fertilizer on his row crops (1940's) - it took courage and faith to put this expensive product on the land with no guarantee it would give you a return on investment.  He was not afraid to work and would always take the lead to show those around him by example.  My father did not posses a farm tractor - he had two horses - he went to great lengths to take care of his horses and tools.  I never saw him too busy to help a neighbor - he cared for his family; friends and neighbors.  He would not boast of his accomplishments, but rather gave credit to others and more importantly gave credit and tanks to GOD.
I am entrepreneur by following the principles my father set before me as a child - and the way he lived his life was and is my blueprint on how to be an entrepreneur:
1.  Study your business.
2.  Devote the necessary time to make it successful.
3.  Be innovative - use state-of-the-art materials and tools.
4.  Be willing to live by FAITH.
5.  Set the proper work ethic example - lead and nurture others.
6.  Take care of your business property and tools - keep them in working order.
7.  Love your family; friends and neighbors - make time for them - always.
8.  Don't be too concerned about who gets credit - be more concerned in recognizing the                helping hand of GOD!
Respectfully submitted - not for the prize necessarily - but with the hopes this may help existing and new entrepreneurs on their life's business journey:
