Washington State Election Update

Washington CSE reached out to over 40,000 voters in six targeted legislative districts during this election cycle. We educated voters regarding candidates’ positions on economic issues such as taxes and jobs. CSE’s election information was especially important for independent voters who are concerned about our state’s economic climate.

There were several races of special interest to CSE members. Two of WA CSE’s activists are locked in “too-close-to-call” races for the State House of Representatives: Erv Hoglund in the 38th District and Elizabeth Bookspan in the 45th District. And Senators Stephen Johnson and Pam Roach, both recipients of WA CSE’s 2002 “Friend of the Taxpayer” Award are winning reelection.

As of press time, November 6, many Washington races were still very close, with thousands of absentee ballots remaining to be counted. As the absentee numbers come in, we will keep you informed of the results. Final results in several of the very close races may not be available until the middle of November.
