What Will We Find In “Lost” Lois Lerner Emails

Originally Published in DeneenBorelli.com on 11/22/14.

The Internal Revenue Service inspector general has recovered up to 30,000 of Lois Lerner’s emails that were thought to be lost because of a computer crash.

The emails were recovered from back up recovery tapes from the IRS email system. Previously, it was thought the emails were lost forever.

Susan Ferrechio from the Washington Examiner wrote about the recovered emails.

Committees in the House and Senate are seeking the emails, which they believe could show Lerner was working in concert with Obama administration officials to target conservative and Tea Party groups seeking tax-exempt status before the 2012 presidential election.

The missing emails extend from 2009 to 2011, a period when Lerner headed the IRS’s exempt-organizations division. The emails were lost when Lerner’s computer crashed, IRS officials said earlier this year.

While it’s possible the emails will link Lerner to the White House, it’s more likely the information will reveal Lerner’s personal agenda against conservatives including possible illegal behavior.

Of particular interest would be to find out if Lerner’s emails would shed light on the motivation for her sending legally protected tax payer information from tax-exempt groups to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

In June, Representative Darrell Issa (R-CA), Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, sent a letter to IRS Commissioner John Koskinen demanding information surrounding the IRS sending a 1.1 million page database of information from 501(c)(4) tax exempt organizations to the FBI a month before the 2010 midterm elections.

Let's hope we find enough to indict just about every upper management person in the IRS, as well as the fool currently infesting the White House. Let the evidence pile up and then when the Liar-in-Chief leaves office, SLAM him with so many charges that he'll be wondering how to deal with them into the middle of the next century.

Seriously, I don't believe we're going to find the worst of offenses by the White House, the IRS, the FEC and Congress.

Knowing they would eventually have to cough up something, it occurs to me that the IRS has likely been buying time and stonewalling while they've been sanitizing the evidence. There needs to be a forensic tech team to comb over any digital scrubbing that has likely been going on for the better part of a year and a half.

"Thought to be lost"? Wrong!! We all thought they were, intentionally destroyed.
