Wilkes County CSE Holds Meeting

On April 26, 2004, thirty CSE members gathered for the Wilkes Co. CSE Meeting. Johnny Alexander is the Chairman of Wilkes Co. CSE, and John Hood of the John Locke Foundation and State Representative Tracy Walker were our special guests.

At the meeting, Wilkes Co. CSE discussed the business climate in North Carolina, and determined that the state is over-taxed and over-regulated. As such, government handouts and other targeted incentives are not the way to go to attract new industry. Instead, CSE is going to fight to make North Carolina more competitive across the board by lower taxes and streamlining government regulations.
