You’re Invited: Two Georgia Events on March 21

FreedomWorks Georgia is going strong with two important events this weekend, Saturday, March 21 in Duluth and Albany.  We hope you can attend one!

Duluth Event:

Rep. Tom Price will be speaking to us March 21st, 8:30 am at Golden Corral in Duluth. Off 85, Pleasant Hill Road Exit. 3270 Satellite Blvd, Duluth, GA 30096 (770)495-7999.

Rep. Price is Chairman of the Republican Study Committee and will be giving us an update on upcoming bills and will speak to us about the “Card Check” Bill. Everyone is invited.

The Republican Study Committee is a group of over 100 House Republicans organized for the purpose of advancing a conservative social and economic agenda in the House of Representatives. The Republican Study Committee is dedicated to: — a limited and Constitutional role for the federal government, — a strong national defense, — the protection of individual and property rights, — and the preservation of traditional family values. The group has played a major role in key policy areas including budget, appropriations, taxes, education, Social Security reform, defense, deregulation, and general government reform.

Albany Event:

John Oxendine Georgia Commissioner of Insurance will be speaking to us March 21, 3-4:30pm at the Albany Government Building at 222 Pine Avenue.  During his tenure as Commissioner of Insurance, Mr. Oxendine has consistently put taxpayers and small businesses first, increasing the efficiency of his department to better serve constituents and saving taxpayer funds.

In addition to remarks by Mr. Oxendine, attendees will learn how to organize the grassroots in their community and get updates on current issues on the local, state, and federal level.  If you are interested in attending the Albany event, please call Donna Driskell at (229) 881-0717.

Victory for Georgia taxpayers!

FreedomWorks Georgia has been fighting hard to support H.B. 168, a bill to repeal the Universal Access Fund.  The taxpayer funded slush fund has been used and abused leaving taxpayers on the hook for things like a $15,000 dinner and a $20,000 Christmas party!  State Representative Clay Cox (District 102) worked to eliminate this waste of taxpayer dollars and after many letters, emails, phone calls, office visits, and hearings the bill passed the House 123 to 42.

This is a real victory for FreedomWorks Georgia and taxpayers around the state.  The bill now moves to the Senate where we’ll keep the pressure on.  Please watch for updates and thank you for all your good work!

Again, we hope to see you at one of our events this Saturday.  These are great opportunities to bring a friend and introduce them to FreedomWorks.  Thank you for your ongoing support of lower taxes, less government, and more freedom.
