Will Congress Let the Lights Go Out?

In September, the House of Representatives heeded calls from tens of thousands of grassroots activists and passed the TRAIN Act, which curbs the power of unelected EPA bureaucrats who are destroying jobs all over the country. Unfortunately, this desperately-needed legislation has stalled in the Democrat-controlled Senate.

Tell Your Legislator to Get On Board With The TRAIN Act!

As any “Joe Sixpack” will readily admit, our country is plagued by stifling fuel prices that cuts into the pockets of all Americans. As an unfortunate consequence, companies continue to shed jobs as they shift their resources to meeting basic energy costs. Unfortunately, federal agencies such as the EPA only make the problems worse. Although the “green” arm of the federal government supposedly conducts a review of its regulatory measures, in practice it hides the cumulative impact of its actions.

EPA attacks on the States

Under a new plan from the Environment Protection Agency, States could face up to $90 billion in costs. The new EPA National Health Based Standards for Ozone would take the current levels of 75 Parts Per Billion (PPB) of Ozone and lower it to a level of 60 to 70 PPB. By increasing the strict level of PPB numerous new counties would faces fines for not being up to code. As many as 650 counties from across the United States would face these fines if the new laws are enacted. To put that into perspective roughly 21% of the counties nation-wide would not be up to code.
