Obamacare Already Restricting Access To Care And Causing Higher Prices

This may not be news to our regular readers and activists at FreedomWorks, since we all predicted such outcomes if Obamacare were to be implemented. In other words, we didn't need to pass the bill to see what was in it - we knew the whole thing stunk.

Debunking the Liberal Talking Points on the Healthcare Debate

With the constitutional merit of the Obamacare mandate unraveling daily before our very eyes, the liberal talking points of bloggers, pundits, and politicians attempting to justify Obamacare from both a constitutional and a practical standpoint seem to be getting more and more ludicrous and far-fetched.  These ridiculous talking points being recycled among liberals are a sign of their growing desperation as Obamacare consistently fails to stand up to scrutiny from freedom loving Americans.  Thus, I have taken an

Did they really die for this?

I’m about halfway though the DVD set of the HBO series “John Adams” which my wife gave me for my birthday a few weeks ago. As I watched an episode on Sunday after reading the news about the passage of the health care “reform” bill in the House – the legislation with potentially the biggest impact on the lives of Americans of any piece of legislation in this nation’s post-Constitutional history yet passed with the vote of only one Republican – I asked myself “Did our Founders really fight and bleed and die for this?”

The Devil's Dictionary of Healthcare Reform

One of the strengths of the American left is their mastery of using language. They say things that mean exactly the opposite of what they sound like (such as the "Employee Free Choice Act" which means to strip the right to a private ballot in a decision about unionizing.)  And, with the help of a credulous press and often lazy electorate, they get away with it more often than not. In no area is the understanding of the difference between what the Democrats say and what they mean more important than in health care.

Have you seen this healthcare bill?

Brian Darling of the Heritage Foundation writes: As you read this, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and officials of the Obama administration are in a room at the Capitol rewriting health care policy. The American people aren’t invited. Only a few lobbyists, Obama czars and liberal Senators have even been allowed to see this bill.

Everyday 14,000 Americans Lose Their Coverage, Really?

On September 9, 2009 Barack Obama gave a speech on health care before a Joint Session of Congress in which he said that “every day, 14,000 Americans lose their coverage.”  In an email to its members on August 27, 2009 promoting vigils for those who can’t afford health insurance, MoveOn cited the same statistic of 14,000 people losing their coverage every day.  From where did this figure come and is it accurate?  MoveOn cites a study done by the Center for American Progress (CAP), a liberal think tank, in February of 2009 as the source of the statistic.

Think Tanks on the Baucus Healthcare Proposal

Earlier this morning, Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) released his vision for a healthcare reform bill (Click here for a PDF version of the bill to read yourself). In it he describes the current law as well as his proposed changes or additions. Some of the issues addressed include: a public option, taxes on the healthcare industry, individual and employer mandates, Medicare cuts, and expansion of Medicaid eligibility.
