"Will Lois 'Lerner' Lesson?"
"Now that the House has voted to hold Lois Lerner in contempt of Congress, will we finally get answers about the IRS targeting scandal?"

Will the Contempt Vote Make Lois ‘Lerner’ Lesson?

Yesterday’s vote to hold former IRS official Lois Lerner in contempt of Congress represents another step forward in the ongoing quest to hold the agency accountable for the discrimination it practiced against conservative non-profit groups in the 2012 presidential election.

Lois Lerner Playing the Victim Card

The saga of Lois Lerner, the IRS official who oversaw the unjust persecution of conservative and tea party organizations during the 2012 election, continues to be one of the most interesting and infuriating cases of political corruption in recent memory. After twice invoking the Fifth Amendment to avoid testifying on what she knew and when she knew it, Ms. Lerner now faces the prospect of jail time, having been officially held in contempt of Congress and recommended for criminal prosecution by the Department of Justice.

Press Release

House Passes One-Year Delay of Abusive IRS Rules Changes

Washington, DC- The House passed a one-year delay of the proposed IRS rules changes that would threaten to regulate conservative and libertarian 501(c)(4) non-profit groups out of existence. Sponsored by Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI), the “Stop Targeting of Political Beliefs by the IRS Act H.R. 3865” passed the House with unanimous Republican support and 14 Democrat votes.

Proposed IRS Rules Would Stifle Free Speech

As you may have heard, the IRS has proposed new rules that would severely restrict grassroots advocacy groups. Under current IRS rules, the purpose of tax-exempt 501(c)(4) organizations is educate the public and promote "social welfare" causes, and they can't work primarily as political campaign organizations. Many 501(c)(4) entities are small grassroots organizations ran by local activists that want to participate in the political process.
