Key Wisconsin Townhall Meetings

There’s a crucial opportunity in the coming weeks to push for a free market, pro-consumer agenda in Wisconsin!

During the entire month of August, Congress will be adjourned and U.S. Senators and Representatives will be home holding town hall meetings and listening sessions to discuss important issues. FreedomWorks’ top issues –Full Death Tax Repeal, Social Security Reform that includes Personal Retirement Accounts, Reforming Local Franchise Laws to give consumers Cable Choice, and taking an important step towards tort reform by rejecting the Specter-Leahy Asbestos Trust Fund and instead passing strict Medical Criteria in Asbestos Lawsuits – will all be top legislative priorities in September.

The anti-reform Left has had its propaganda machine working non-stop to spread lies and misinformation about President Bush’s Ownership Society, but there’s a great opportunity coming up to change the course of this debate. That’s because Representatives Jim Sensenbrenner (R, WI-5) and Paul Ryan (R, WI-1), are holding town hall meetings through August to discuss important issues like Social Security reform and permanent repeal of the Death Tax.
This is a great time to let them know that America supports President Bush’s plan to save Social Security through a system of Personal Retirement Accounts (PRAs)!

Over the past several months, the AARP, organized labor, and other liberal groups have launched a massive assault on fundamental Social Security reform. They’ve spent millions of dollars on misleading attacks against President Bush and his plan in an effort to scare senior citizens and other Americans. To combat their millions, we need your help. And that’s why it is crucial that you get in front of Reps. Ryan and Sensenbrenner to support these reforms.

Wisconsin State Director Cameron Sholty is organizing FreedomWorks activists to come to these events. Cameron will help members show support for Social Security reform, tort reform, and permanent repeal of the death tax, distribute literature, and counter the forces of the Left! Please call him as soon as possible at (414) 899-9112 or email him at csholty@freedomworks.org if you want to take part.
