The Fight to #MakeDCListen

There is a myth in politics that elections are won and lost in the middle. The premise is that "independent" voters support tenets of both major political parties and candidates must craft their message to attract a majority of these "moderates." Despite the fact that nearly twice as many Americans self-identify as conservative as compared to liberal, conservatives are often referred to as "extremists," or worse.

Progressives and Hypocrisy: A Love Affair

I don’t want to shock our readers but, occasionally, liberals can be inconsistent. They can be, if one dares use the term, hypocritical. This latest example came to my attention as I was researching a recent piece on the case the Supreme Court is hearing with regards to unions.

CBO Report Confirms States Should Reject Medicaid Expansion

Conservatives were right to warn that Governor John Kasich’s embrace of the Obamacare Medicaid expansion would increase government spending and hurt Ohio’s labor force, a February 4 Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report affirms.States still being pressured to take "free" Medicaid expansion money from DC should learn from Kasich's mistake.

Obamacare and Job Lockout

Obamacare has been a drag on the US economy so far based mostly on uncertainty and on businesses preparing to comply with its various rules, mandates, penaties, taxes, and fees. But a new report from the CBO shows that the law will trap people in unemployment and cause higher deficits, piling onto the national debt while lower tax receipts make it harder for the government to repay.

Will The GOP's Short Attention Span Ruin The 2014 Midterms?

Fearing baldness, I long ago stopped scratching my head at the public moves of the Republican hierarchy. With Obamacare crumbling like a celebrity marriage all around them, the Democrats are so desperate that they're focusing on raising the minimum wage-a "feel good" bunch of nonsense that benefits an age demographic that isn't even old enough to vote for them. But they need people to talk about anything but Obamacare.

Stealth Bureaucrats Limit Drugs and Doctors to Seniors

Democracy and Power 105: The Politician Seeks PowerThe desire to rule is the mother of heresies. —St. John ChrysostomIn America, a politician intentionally selects to enter politics. They seek power in the name of public good, but predominately they seek power. When a person enters Congress or the Presidency, they seek and use the coercive power of government.

About Those Obamacare "Successes"

Federal statistics can be easily manipulated to suit the present needs of the bureaucrats who need a certain story to be told. Imagine announcing that you're on a diet and you gain five pounds in the first month. In an effort to save face, you simply ignore any weight you gained up to age twenty when telling other people where you're currently at. That's the federal way. When the numbers can't be manipulated through mere accounting trickery, they can just be inflated through sheer confusion.

We Shouldn't Allow Politicians To Divide Us: Think Again About What Freedom Means

In the waiting room of Memorial Sloan-Kettering’s radiation treatment center, I discovered that in the race of life, those running to stay on the track are among the most determined, hopeful and courageous. They’re also grateful, for it’s in the sanctuary of sympathetic and expert care where cancer patients experience calm and clarity after the storm of diagnosis and decision-making.

I Don't Have Kids, But I'm Forced To Buy Pediatric Dental Insurance

Good news, readers. I now have pediatric dental insurance. I don’t have kids, I have a dog.  I'm not responsible for the teeth of any children at all, but I’ve got the insurance now just in case. I don’t need pediatric dental insurance, I didn’t know I wanted pediatric dental insurance, but Obama thinks I do, so I must now buy it.
