FreedomWorks Activists Visit Legislators in Florida

FreedomWorks Florida knows that politics goes to those who show up. Dozens of FreedomWorks activist are spending March 8th and 9th at the Capitol in Tallahassee to meet with elected officials.

This legislative session FreedomWorks will be aggressively supporting a taxpayer bill of rights, property reforms, market-based insurance reform, school choice, and video programming reform. FreedomWorks activists understand the importance of market-oriented reform, and have already sent thousands of emails, letters, and phone calls to state legislators on these issues. By showing an active presence at the capitol, politicians know that FreedomWorks activists are well-informed, passionate, and ready to work to support elected officials that support free market polices.

FreedomWorks will also support the local property tax revolt that has been building around the state. Activists have been traveling throughout the state to work with other groups to build support for placing a taxpayer protection amendment on the ballot. FreedomWorks will carry this message directly to lawmakers, telling them that it is necessary to rein in the size of government.

FreedomWorks’ volunteer leaders have a long tradition of visiting the capitol to advocate for the freedom agenda, and will continue to attend events at the statehouse through the year to support limited government.

FreedomWorks Florida Coordinator Tom Gaitens commented:

“Our activists enjoy introducing themselves to the legislators and advocating the freedom agenda for Florida. When politicians meet the people behind the phone calls, letters, and emails, it reminds them there is a constituency of expectations supporting lower taxes, less government, more freedom.”

FreedomWorks is a national grassroots organization promoting lower taxes, less government, and more freedom nationwide with over 850,000 members, more than 53,000 of whom live in Florida.
