FreedomWorks Rally at General Electric Shareholder Meeting

What: FreedomWorks activists will gather outside the GE shareholders meeting to raise awareness of the critical threat that a cap and trade system poses to the US economy with negligible environmental benefits. GE corporate leadership is embracing the imposition of a cap and trade system on the US economy.

Who: Over 100 FreedomWorks activists from North and South Carolina. Tom Borelli of The Free Enterprise Action Fund (Ticker: FEAOX) and FreedomWorks Chief Economist Dr. Wayne Brough will address the FreedomWorks activists.

When: 9:00 A.M. to 12:00PM on April 25, 2007

Where: The GE Annual Meeting of Shareholders
Carolina First Center (Formerly Palmetto Expo Center)
One Exposition Avenue
Greenville, SC 29607

Why: Anti-energy extremists are distorting the facts and using purely emotional arguments. FreedomWorks wants to cut through the rhetoric and raise awareness of the true costs and dramatic changes to the American way of life that a cap and trade system would bring about. Dramatically restricting energy will devastate US global competitiveness, disproportionately hurt the poor and those on fixed incomes, and empower the government to pick and choose winners in the marketplace. This rally will help raise awareness of The Free Enterprise Action Fund’s shareholder proposal on GE’s 2007 proxy statement demanding that the company disclose its rationale demonstrating that global warming regulations are good for business.

FreedomWorks is a grassroots organization with over 800,000 members nationwide dedicated to lower taxes, less government, and more freedom.
