Oklahomans Overwhelmingly Support Legislation to End Civil Asset Forfeiture

Legislation introduced in Oklahoma to require a criminal conviction before property can be forfeited to the government has strong backing from likely voters in the Sooner State, according to a survey released on Thursday. The survey also found strong support for law enforcement in the state. This highlights that support of civil asset forfeiture reform and appreciation for those who protect and survey communities are not mutually exclusive.

71% of Americans Believe Property Shouldn't Be Taken Without a Conviction

A recent survey conducted by YouGov shows an overwhelming percentage of Americans believe the government should be able to seize cash or property only if the owner is convicted of a crime. Three Quarters of Americans Believe Washington Spends Too Much

A new poll by Reason shows that the American public is fed up with the spending spree in Washington and does not want the debt-ceiling increased. Seventy-six percent of the American public believe that the government is spending too much money.  Washington as a whole, and liberals in particular will surely ignore these facts during the looming budget battles.
